I think the operation involved wisdom teeth, I didn't know they were putting some in...
I had mine removed, all 4 were impacted, ie the jaw bone overlapped the teeth, they couldn't push their way out. Two were done at the dentist, the other two in Hospital with a general anaesthetic. I forgot whether it was the upper or lower that had to be done in Hospital though. Best wishes for a fast recovery, I know what you are going through.
