Surprise Surprise!
Yesterday not far from home I seemed to suffer a sudden loss of power at all rpm in all gears? Nursed the car home and put it to bed for the night.
Today went off in the car and all seemed fine until I braked - slight clunking sound and more loss of power. Drove home slowly, felt the rear drums and offside was very hot. Wheel off and after a wrestle the drum came off to the sound of something dropping on the floor... Looked down and found a complete (and very new looking) brake lining that should have been well and truly bonded to the now bare brake shoe! Oh well at least it will be another job done that won't need doing again for a while. I think my truck may be out to get me. Ian. |

At least the shoes are not to expensive aswell. Just changed the rear shoes on our Astra and ended up changing the drums too as they had worn funny.

Both the drums and the shoes looked fairly new so I was a bit scared of ordering cheap shoes in case the same thing happened again, so ordered some Pagid ones but only just short of 40 a set. Hope they last a long time!
