Default Spare key and owners manual

Well I bought the Terrano 3.0 SVE that I was asking about the tow bar the other week. Am really pleased with it but currently I only have one key. The dealer said he will contact the previous owner to ask him to send it on, but I have a feeling that I wont see it.

Also dont have an owners manual, have had a look on ebay but cant see one.

Can I assume that I really need to go to Nissan to ask for these? There is no other option - especially about the spare key?

Somewhere like Timsons should be able to make you a spare key, won't be cheap though as you'll need one with the dooda for the immobilizer (can't remember the name) and it won't give you a fob for the central locking.

Might be able to get a fob off eBay though and reprogram Maybe even one with a blank key?

For the manual, I would have thought eBay was the place, so failing that you will need to try Nissan.

When I bought my 3L 2 years ago a key without the 'blip' function cost over £60 & a full remote key cost £160. These were trade prices!!! I made do with the basic as a spare (surprise, surprise!).
Am very tempted to buy the blank fob off ebay & get the key cut locally, but don't have a clue what's involved in making the key fully operational, so I'm waiting untill some-one on here does it & tells me what's involved LOL.

Default Re-synchronising key fob

Okay bud this is how I was told to re-synchronise a fob and it's worked for me!

You may find it easier if you seperate the fob from the keyblade using a small flathead screwdriver. It makes pressing the buttons much easier if you only have a single fob.

Ensure all the doors have been unlocked by using a regular working key.

Procedure

1. Turn the ignition switch from Position 0 to ON 6 times within 10 seconds.
2. Then turn ignition switch to OFF position. Leave key in ignition switch.
3. After 2 seconds, the system will enter programming mode and will flash the warning
lights twice.
4. Press and HOLD the unlock button on the fob.
5. While holding the unlock button AND within 5 seconds of pressing it , press the lock button 3 times.
6. Release the unlock button.
7. The warning lights will flash once to indicate successful programming.
8. Repeat procedure points 4 to 7 for up to 4 fobs.
9. When completed turn ignition ON, and the warning lights will flash 2 times.
10. Remove key, and check all fobs for operation.

NOTE : The programming mode will stop when either the ignition is switch ON, 4 fobs
have been programmed or no input signal either from the switch or fobs has been received
for 120 seconds.

Try that

Will the alarm go off if you lock with the fob and then open with a key?? Im sure thats what happened with my old 2.7 Terrano?

Also is there a way to disable the horn from the alarm, as I always had to leave old my car unlocked when I had the horse in the trailer as if he stamped his foot, the motion would start the alarm off!

This was for micktheshed, I obviously took too long in replying!

Yes I think the alarm does go off if you lock with the fob and unlock with the key but perhaps someone else can confirm?

If I have a window open or the sheepdog in the truck (rare) I always lock with the key - not had the alarm go off yet

If you lock with the fob & open with the key yes the alarm will go off but as soon as you put the key into the ignition & switch it on it stops the alarm I have the owners manual so could copy any bits you want to read up on but I could copy the whole lot which will take a few hours to do if the Moderators would like to add it to the down load section so everyone can read it

When I got mine, it only had one key, I tried Timpsons and the guy said he couldn't program a key for me and said it was a main dealer only item

I bought an old key with the same transponder off ebay, but this wouldn't program, using the above info.
In the end, I went to the dealer and purchased just the main body of the key for about £60, I got a blade off ebay and had that cut at a local cutters. The new key did program OK.

cncfabs is breaking a 3.0, he may have an owners manual.

If my alarm goes off, it just flashes the indicators.
