Default mapping tablet

just looking for a tablet suitable for navigating lanes on the go.
as well as music storage and maybe videos and pics.
I was recommended to look at Lenovo.
I understand its illegal to use anything bigger than 7" in your windscreen.
is this ok. dunno if its got gps though as it doesn't statehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Lenovo-A1000-7-inch-Tablet-PC-1GHz-Processor-1GB-RAM-16GB-HDD-White-/261464184889?pt=UK_iPad_Tablets_eReaders&hash=item3ce07ad839

I know very little but to run memory map I think you need a tablet with GPS if you want to see where you are on the mapping, well my mate has it on his laptop & it becomes a giant satnav Not sure on the legal size you are allowed but you could replace your stereo with a tablet in it's place, add a small'ish 4 channel amp & connect the tablet to the amp which is becoming very common these days

I had thought 7" was a limit but I've searched and searched and can't find anything to say one way or another.
Apart from TV screens not being visible to the driver
Many newer cars have bloody huge satnav touch screen gizzmos

would connection br by 3.5mm?

thinking of doing same, but cant see point of losing existing head
as easier to control volume and retain radio, even cd for flexibilty.

on tablets, advent tegra 7", has stylus function, quad core cpu,
from Currys/PC World, £140.

Is MM on android, wasn't recently when looked?

Yes you can get the MM app mixed reviews on it tho those who have replaced the stereo with a tablet use a 3.5mm jack to phono or Ipod lead some have a digital set up but not 100% what was used

It may be cheap but I think you'll be disappointed with the resolution on the screen For maps especially. I bought a cheap one with better res than that and I sold again in weeks.
I think it's an older version of Android too so may not be so clever manipulating the maps around.
Give Clivvy a pm he's on the ball with this stuff
