Maverick expedition, do you remember?
I can remember not long after mavericks and Terranos were launched there was a documentary, I think on BBC1, that followed a team on an expedition driving Mavericks.
I dont recall where exactly they went but it was snowy and icey, Norway/Iceland maybe. I remember thinking "I want one of those" Does anyone remember the prog or even better know its available anywhere :?: |

I remember it, they went from the UK to the US travelling through Europe, Russia and Alaska. They had to travel across a frozen sea but I can't remember it's name, I think it was between Russia and Alaska.
Jim T PS I can remember that but don't ask if I can remember something from this morning  |

Hi folks,
I have a book "Four Wheel Drive" by Nigel Fryatt and Graham Scott [ISBN 1-86160-833-0 ], originally published in 1995 by Quintet Publishing (mine is the 2004 edition) which devotes 4 pages to this one ... It was Ford's 1994 London-New York Overland Challenge. The challenge was to attempt to drive across Europe, Siberia, the Bering Strait, Alaska and the rest of North America. Apparently, the engines had to be left running overnight when the temperatures were as low as -60 degrees fahrenheit. just googled it and found this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A388172 Cheers |
