My Terrano Commercial Sport! Just Purchased

Hi folks, ive just bought a 2006 2.7 Terrano Commercial Sport with 85k miles on the clock. Im used to Suzuki Grand Vitaras and these Terranos aint half like old farmers un-refined and noisy old motors compared!!

Needs a few parts and repairs to get it up to scratch, but its pretty much good to go.

Ive put new reg plates on it, new drivers side indicator, a set of Insa Turbo Dakars, removed side steps and will be repairing the passengers side front bumper which is cracked!

Need a few bits- mainly instrument cluster clear cover which is cracked due to previous owner putting tape over airbag light!, and a drivers rear mudflap!

advice? yeah, get every nook and cranny waxoyld!!

I would do the front cross member, the large chassis mounting brackets for sure (where the bolts for the bumper go through), the rear sills, get those drains cleared in the corner of the door/inner wings etc and so on!!
other than that, its all fun and games checking the oils, LSD oil and having fun.

Not sure these new ones have LSD. Advice wise I'd bin the bling at the front and go steel bumper and winch

Thanks folks, rust wise it looks all good so ill try keep it that way.

It has an LSD, as it scuffs pretty bad whilst turning tightly, is this what theyre all like or will an oil change help that?

Wont be going winch bumpers etc but would like a subtle lift and a snorkel!

Nice tidy looking motor

An oil change on the rear diff will help a lot & for an easy 1.5" lift just fit LWB springs onto the rear & adjust the front torsion bars to match

They drive fine IIRC the LWB springs are a bit stiffer than the SWB ones but this helps stop extra body roll due to the lift when driving on road

You can use the standard shock & I know a few friends who have but they can top out at times on max travel but these guy's had binned the rear ARB if your keeping it it'll prob stop it from happening

Std shocks will work but I can't see why they'd "top out" unless bump stops are off too ?
Std shocks will however limit full droop.
Coils won't drop out

My last 4x4 was an M-reg Mitsubishi Pajero and even that old thing was comfy and refined compared to my much newer T2. Very noisy and very agricultural, but I still love it

Nice little Sport you got there. I considered a commercial, but figured it would be even less refined than the one I have, so opted for at least some degree of comfort

Thanks folks. 'Top out' as in opposite of bottomed out, it could be fully extended whilst articulating, and the shock not being long enough to match the 1.5" extra long spring..

Cupcake- i couldnt believe how agricultural it is, its like an M plate, not an 06!!
