It was windier yesterday and the day before than during the night here in South Staffordshire, a few more leaves on the lawn.

Yesterday I serviced the old generator, 1.7kW, not been used for a few years, new petrol, started 3rd pull. Now I have to drain the tank and run the carb dry.

BUT I have been meaning to do it for a while now...

Where we live is on a hill, and if we loose power, then the local water pumping station shuts down, and the water pressure drops, so I filled a couple of 5 litre containers, just in case. We must have our morning tea.

We also store rain water, so I could have used that for loo flushing etc.

But all prepared...

They usually advise a wider area of bad weather just in case.

well, we were in Norfolk and yeah it was very windy and really heavy rain plus flooding everywhere but no where near the Armageddon I was expecting. I saw a twig fall from a tree, that's about it.

hope all those folks who are affected though are ok, I read a couple of people have died which is awful.

Not too bad in Berkshire. A number of trees down around the region, couple of minor areas with brief power cuts, but nothing like expected. All dying down quite nicely now and it's been sunny since I set out for work at 7.30 this morning

That's nothing, we had our BBQ cover blown off and a pot was blown over.
