Default Cleaning MAF's

Hi guy's whats the best thing to use to clean the MAF ? Truck is pulling well but think the MAF is a little dirty & i've just fitted a K&N filter so there is a chance a little filter oil may have got on the wires. Would carb cleaner work ok ?

I used "Servisol Switch and Contact Cleaner", I've seen it for sale in Maplin.

There are plenty of threads if you do a search, but you would need to be a full member to do that.

But I would have thought carb cleaner would be fine, but don't use WD40 or anything else that leaves a deposit on the wire.

Hi sweety - welcome back, just returned myself.

Carb cleaner or brake cleaner will be fine, both are just solvents that will wash any oil off.

Jim - not sure on contact cleaner its acidic and could attack the metal elements of the MAF, personally I wouln't have risked it but if you got away with it all well and good.

Hi Terranosaurus hope your keeping well mate i'll give the carb cleaner a go then as I tried contact cleaner on my last T2 & i'm sure it helped to kill that MAF. Going to give Nissan a ring to see what the price is for a new one as having one as a spare won't hurt & they were only £45 from the dealer
