Default Fuel consumpsion

Hi, I am currently getting approx 22mpg whilst towing caravan from my 2002 2.7 Terrano! Is this correct as my previous 96 Maverick non intercooled was returning about 27mpg towing?

Cheers

Rob

you would be doing well to get 27 towing, do not forget to take into account speedo inaccuracies, your old TDi was probably like most reading a fair bit fast applies to the odometer as well, do not know about the 2002 check it with sat nav, Rick

I get about 24/25 out of mine with the caravan on the back, that's going around 55mph and my van is about a ton.

Unless you have got bigger tyres fitted to adjust the gearing, the Terrano speedo is a mile out. As Rick said this also affect the odometer. So it makes MPG seem better than actual. 55mph on my speedo was 48mph on my phone. I did a test on a 50mile trip and Odometer was wrong compared to google maps.

Default have towed 5 years 2.7i

Have towed 5 years 2.7i, 12 years 2.7 Tdi, 2 years RAV4 looking forward to the 3.0.

The mpg can only be compared over a long average, once you go over 2500 revs the mpg drops, over 3000 it plummets. High winds, hills, holdups all play a part.

The mpg overall improved between the 2.7i and the Tdi.
