Default New Patrol Y61 owner with leaking front axle

Hi all

I am the new owner of a 2004 Y61 SVE in the Potters Bar area Hertfordshire.

When I returned from a drive on Saturday I noticed a dark patch on the drive. There is oil dripping from the drivers side swivel onto the tyre, so assume that the axle oil seal has failed. Can I continue driving this in 2wd as need the car this weekend, I believe that the front diff etc is stationary if hubs not locked? What oil should I buy to top it up?

Does anyone know a good garage that works on these cars in the North London/Herts area?

Sorry for all the questions in my first post. It is a great vehicle, hope to get it fixed and off road soon.

Thanks. Richard.

Should be in 2wd anyway till needed offroad. So yes
Milners do a kit , as once you've got the hub apart you might as well do the lot

Thanks for the replies.

I will order the parts and have a go at fixing it. What oil should I use to top it up?

Richard.
