just booked me strata holiday
I was going to pack my tent and go woodlands for a couple of days then move north for a bit.
I love camping and have about 5 tents of various shapes and forms from back packing tents to our biggest one that can just fit two adults 1 child and a dog in crouching with out standing height.with minimal space for cooking n stuff At 45 years old I didn't fancy crawling about in a tent and lying on a damp air bed. For the last few years its been cheeper to get a cottage with luxury and comfort than go camping. So I brought a vango Maritsa 700. wow its massive.500 quid massive. big enough to fly my indoor rc helicopter without and side winds with its sewn in groundsheets. at about 45kilo though im worried I may have to buy a roof box too to fit all my camping gear in now though as I want my chairs table and all my comforts with us. its ended up being a shorter break but im booked into aberystwyh holiday village for 4 nights for 4 people with a hook up. for 90 quid with heated indoor pool, entertainment, fishing and a whole host of other activities. but the best thing about it is.... me and mrs j can go green laning with some dudes we don't know In deep sheep country And leave our sprog with her grandad on site with sea front. while we will be free.... In the hills, having fun,no kids, dogs, puppies and general banter if you got a cb? But if any of you dudes bring a banjo out im off bring a bbq out and im in. whats the general plan on Saturday? meet at designated point.( need link to refresh memory on that one) get going for 10 am. that means I will be ready for coffee and second breakfast about 11am dinner about 3pm. how long is the run? and what do I need? Ive got tools, jump leads, but my truck is good. I will pack my stove kettle and water for a brew |

bring food for the day, I'm hoping to do some new to me lanes a bit further drive away after strata (worth it) But if we go that route we go past a nice chip shop twice.
Everything else you will be ok with. Check the original thread for saturday's meeting spot. It's in the wales forum section. |

general plan for Saturday, is do strata florida and a lane called soar y mynydd which makes a nice loop. Scenery is amazing.
Depending on time then head over to rhayader area to do a lane called golf links then lower claerwen dam. Depending on saturday, Sunday's plans may change. If we don't do rhayader area saturday. We will do nant-y-moch then head over to rhayader. So sundays meeting point may change by a few miles but will speak about that during laning saturday. Saturday's meeting point is still the same: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?daddr=...p=1&sz=18&z=16 |
