Unhappy Old Troll For Sale 4.2D Auto LWB

NISSAN PATROL 4.2Diesel Automatic

Date of First registration 15-06-1990

Bought by me 15-07-2010 - 7 former keepers

Speedo is in KMH and has covered 230,00Km ish’ which is approx 143K miles. It only had 222,000K when I bought it.
Booked in for a test this week after a pre test to determine work required. All done!

It has had Rebuilt Injector pump £300 approx 9months ago.
Reconditioned alternator with new vac pump approx 3months ago.
New battery within the last year.
New H4 headlights in place of the sealed beam units within last 18months-2yrs
New exhaust front pipe when I bought it and new back box last week for test.
Front to rear brake pipes for last test and new rear shoes. Fornt pads at some point since I got it.
New front springs and OME Shocks, New rear springs.
It had a full Air, oil,and filter change when I got it so should be good for a few thousand miles yet, as it took 9L of oil and has two oil filters (yes two and they are big ones)

Currently has 265 75 16 BFG Muds which will be removed and replaced with 265 70 16 almost new Hankooks on the front and some other make on the rear again almost new on very good rims + Dunlop spare. From my new truck.

The roof rack and snorkel will stay on the truck.
7 seats and seatbelts.
The carpets need putting back down after due to the welding for the MOT.
Has a tow bar but cannot vouch for the electrics – they worked last time I used them but it was a while ago.
Rear LSD. All drive train is superb and HI-Lo box works as it should.
Electric windows x 4 and heated rear screen works.
The windscreen has a few weld spatters on from fitting the roof rack (Doh!!)
The drivers seat runner is cracked so if you are a bit tall and need the seat back it wobbles a bit – I pulled it forward for the Test and it was OK.
The front wings are there by the grace of god only. Not quite that bad bu I cut the rot out and fitted Landrover plastic arch extensions to all 4 corners. These have got through the last 2 MOT’s.
I have welded the inner arches to the boot floor and a few other patches for the MOT.

Front Bumper has been removed as I fitted a winch Tray and winch. Open to offers on this but will probably fit it to new truck. I will supply the original Bull Bar if the winch is removed.
Aircon but does not work – probably needs regas.
Ciggy lighter fuse needs replacing.

If I have forgotten anything please ask.
Private plate optional for costs
Not sure what it’s worth sensible offers in the region of 2K+

I'm sure Briggie will be able to give you a raft of information and specs from his vast library.

I just fill it full of vegie oil turn the key and go. Not too quick but it will pull your house down.

I also travel from Southend on sea to home in the North East every week so may be able to meet you and give you a lift

Going on Ebay today.

I have a 4.2D lwb Patrol. BHP is around 123 I think. Though I've turned up the fuel on my injector pump. I get around 30mpg on a run and I run 70% veg oil at a pound a litre.
Engine pulls like a train, gearbox is tough as and so are axles.
If you think of a 110 defender 200 tdi then performance is on a par with one of those but it's far comfier, quieter and better equipped.

If you're thinking of off roading, axle travel is enormous(live axles and coil springs all round)

I believe there is a mod that can be done to use the torque converter lock up from a switch and improve performance and economy further.

Axles are indeed about the strongest out there
How do you turn up the fuel pump by the way ? I've looked at the thing and can't work out which way to turn what ?
Mine runs neat bio 80p a litre and who knows what MPG. it's just so awesome

I have an inline pump on mine. If yours is the same, basically the system has an elec motor and an arm that moves in 3 positions on the injector pump. There's back which is stop engine, middle which is run and forwards which is overfuel for starting.
There's a screw that sets where the injector pump lever off the motor stops in the run position. Unscrew that screw and the lever will move more towards the start position and add fuel. Mines screwed out 1.5 turns. Made a nice difference because they are set very "lean" from the factory for emissions.
