Default Navara advice

Thought id post here.

My mate has just got a 54 Navara 2.5 d.Up until today it hasnt been running a mechanic before he bought it said it was the fuel pump that was knackered. However when we went to pick it up today I tow started it with the mighty maverick lol. With in a few yards it started and sound very good.Previous owner put new glow plugs fule filter etc on.Before I tow started it it would turn over freely.

What could the cause of been for it to not start before??

Cheers Gav

Check for air leaks on fuel filter, may be just sucking in air
