Black Pearl spec sheet !
Just thought I'd try and collate all the mods I've done to the Black Pearl.
It started off simply enough as a late 1996 Ford Maverick TDi SUSPENSION : 2" lift using proper +2" rear coils. +2" Rough Country "Hydro 8000" rear shocks . Rear anti roll bar removed completely. Front end re-indexed and Rough Country "Hydro 8000" shocks. Top arms are "Calmini" and correct the steering geometry. They've been opened up a bit to make clearance for the bigger bore shocks. Top arm also has custom made grease-able bushes . Compression rod mounts have been modified to rose jointed ones, allowing the front to flex far more freely. Front anti roll bar drop links have been modified to rose joints too, helps keep the 35s in check Poly bushed too. Full on steering idler mod, which is basically using a full steering box conversion to replace the old limp biscuit one. Steering control arms are rose jointed and also the track rod end ball joints are upgraded to Fergy tractor ones . Steering damper fitted. Manual free wheel hubs fitted. Body lift +2" Loads of body mods done for both rust repairs and getting clearance for 35s Arches have been cut back an inch or so for extra wheel clearance on full flex. Front wings are rust free. Rear door is the newer model type and has the spare wheel bracket removed. Reg number plate mounted on the door and illuminated. Rear door mounting brackets for the Hi-Lift jack. Internal floor mods too to allow for the LPG tank (details later) No back seats and flat paneled interior with offroad equipment storage space under. Built in compressor compartment and secure door. Roof modified to include snorkel air scoop and then plumbed through to engine bay. Glove box and vents still work. Roof also has LWB roof rails fitted so they run front to back. Removable light bar mounted on the roof rails. Military type waterproof plug n socket for the spots. 4 of them , dash mounted "fog light" switched via solenoid . Rear lights modified to include hi-level rear work lights/reverse lights. Rear roof spoiler including hi-level brake light. It also has been modified to allow the aerial to work. Bonnet has modified inter cooler scoop from a scooby (nice and big) Bonnet also has an extra ram air intake for road work. Windscreen is top tinted and scratch free. Door windows have wind deflectors. All rear windows tinted with limo black. Interior mods include extra gauges and for turbo boost, oil pressure/temp. Also an inclinometer and pitch thingy. CB with external dash mount speaker, so you can hear it . CD head unit and power amp mounted under passenger seat. 6 x 9 speakers in the doors and in the panel behind the seats. 10" subs mounted in the rear side panels. Fire extinguisher. No carpets. Hi back reclining bucket seats "Rage" Rock slider replacement sills . Continuously welded to body. Hi-lift it anywhere on these. Rear steel winch bumper. Front steel winch bumper and integrated bash plate under neath. Hi-lift jack points. 12,000 lb electric winch. Front mount wander lead socket in light surround. Hi-level waterproof winch solenoid. Engine mods : Turbo modified to include bigger compressor wheel and roller bearings. Turbo professionally rebuilt . Modified outlet to allow silicone pipe fittings. 2 1/2" stainless exhaust manifold and straight through system. Two flexi joints included to allow for engine movement. Stainless exhaust exits through the side of the truck in front of rear wheel. TD5 full width intercooler on custom mounts. Water cooling spray for intercooler and scoobie dash switch to run it. Press and hold then release. Modified inlet manifold . EGR removed . Throttle body removed and side entry intake for silicone hose. New starter cable loom . New starter motor. New engine mounts. Numax dual CVX battery . LPG injection 60 litre tank mounted internally but under the rear flat floor. Safety checked and KarGas certified. Inertia switch and reset mounted on dash. (if you crash the truck it shuts off the gas) Bulkhead solenoid and evaporator solenoid.(all safety devices) Throttle micro switch activated, so only gased on throttle. Illuminated LPG master switch on dash. Evaporator is heated from cooling system and prioritised before heater. Custom LPG venturi feed pre turbo. LPG fill cap mounted to side panel behind drivers door. Oil blow by valve removed and catch tank fitted. Tunit 2 power chip fitted . Isolating micro switch on dash. Modified fuel filter . Fuel lines changed for Veggie / Bio proof ones from tank to bulkhead. Return lines replaced too. Fuel pump pressure relief valve changed. Terrano 3.0 litre clutch fitted to handle the power. Windscreen washer filter fitted. Windscreen washers mounted directly onto blades. Night breaker headlight bulbs fitted. There could well be more but I can't quite remember at the mo Anyway it's up for sale pretty soon. I wonder how much it's worth ? |

Loving the extensive mod list on here
Did the re indexing of the torsion help? mine has already put my cv joints at an extreme angle, didnt wanna go any further. Is there a way to level them out again and also get lift at the same time? |
