I've been running at closer to 70% diesel with this little cold snap. It sucks having to use more diesel, but I'd rather it start and run than not.

Rapeseed does not thickken as much as soya, a bit of petrol thins too. Get your ass to Farmfoods . Check the plugs. David.

On the Beast im running 100% diesel now, but on Misty she is at about 50% SVO and diesel.

Beast dont like cold mornings, even with a new battery, but Misty is fine.

I will start to thin it down a little though as it gets colder.

Check your glow plugs 50% veggie should start a piece of p1ss
Check your compression if the glow plugs and relay are fine.

I think its the starter motor Pete as its a bit slow. Just put new Glow plugs in.

Mine likes 20% petrol and a shot of diesel too in this colder weather to get easy starts, I have shiny new glow plugs, there in the boot !

Without the diesel and on soya oil, I was struggling to get her fired up on a cold one, rest of the neighbourhood usually disappeared in a cloud of white smoke when she finally got started.

Waste veg oil is a pain at this time of year. The solid fats are impossible to filter out to 1 micron and you will need several stages, a messy and slow job. New oil is an easier way but costs more. At 50% your fuel should be about £1.20/L. David.
