Default Cheapest Grabber AT2 tyres

Hi Folks,

I've definitely decided that I'm (probably) going to buy a set of 265/70 R17 General Grabber AT2s for the 'Troll within the next couple of weeks - well, some time before I go on holiday at end July anyway.

The cheapest I've found so far is from the local Hi-Q in Oldham, at £95+VAT a corner fitted (just over £111 inc VAT). Has anyone spotted any cheaper?

Cheers
Andrew

I forgot to mention that I've checked most of the online tyre dealers. Blackcircles are the cheapest I've found that can quote a fitted price, also around £111 inc VAT fitted. My only reason for posting really is that I'm fed up of buying stuff only to have someone say "Oh ....... you could have got it cheaper from XXXXX").

Tanx for the reply

Cheers

I don't know whether it has something to do with fuel prices, but their website now quotes £483.50 inc Vat and delivery but exc fitting.

Well, thanks all. In the end, I've ordered 5 General Grabber AT2 from the Hi Q in Oldham for £92.50 + VAT each, inc valves, balancing and fitting - i.e. just over £108.69 each inc VAT, which is OK I think - especially as they are local.

They should be fitted before weekend and then I'll find out for sure whether the spare will fit in the Patrol wheel carrier. I suspect it won't, even though the 265/70 R17 are only half an inch bigger than the stock 275/65 R17 Bridgestones, as there's very little clearance around the spare now.

Then we go laning ..................

Cheers

HI Andrew

The Spare just fits, but am looking at making a spacer so can fit a wheel cover on, i read some where to use a plastic chopping board to cut one out.

cheers dave

It was actually the cover I was thinking of rather than the carrier itself. According to Fred Cutler at www.wheel-cover.co.uk, they have a semi-rigid cover with a silver face for £49.95 inc VAT delivered that'll fit over a 265/70R17.

Cheers
Andrew.
