Default Hello everyone.. I am new and have a toy !!

Hello All,
Sorry if there seems a lot of questions !

Well our old Renault was written off the other day so i went car shopping and came home with what is seen below.. £2700 6 months tax thrown in.. Sold as seen though. Its done 96k miles.. Is it true that it does not have a cam chain or belt its cogs ??? Do i have to have them replaced at 100k ?

It seems to have one problem which is the ABS light comes on goes off as it should but when i drive down the road it pops back on and stays on untill i turn it off and start again. The brakes seem fine though. Not sure what this is ?

Tonight went to walk the dog and saw a nice long dirty road and thought ahh well it will be fun into 4x4 we went and boy i enjoyed it and its barely even mucky it just drove didn't even slip..

I am in the North West (Blackpool) i was hoping to find maybe a club of people that go out for off road days ?????.. I have a 9yr old child and other half that seem to be as enthusiastic as myself.

Get that tow bar off

Can i suggest you reset your front torsion bar, change all your filters and the oil. tappets might need adjusting. rear over axle fuel pipes might need replacing. have a look for rot on sills, in wheel arches and on front wings.

cracking motor tho mate, nice colour too

I need the tow bar which is the shame.. Though looking it seems to unbolt..

I wouldn't to be honest have a clue how to change and do that lot if i am honest..

As for rust/rot.. I can't find any what so ever it seems solid as a rock though i must confess i am not a expert..

Yes, but only worth it if you intend on doing serious off roading. When I got mine it had road tyres on it and it was axle deep in mud, climbing all sorts of stupid stuff without a mumble, so you don't need to bother as they are super capable standard.

Is a kid and partner allowed on these off road day things you spoke of earlier ?

Does the paid for forum section contain how to change filters and the like ?

welcome to the club chap!

you and your family can do what you want at those 4x4 outings, never known them be lads only!

looks a stunning example. As Zipster says. probably ABS wires, the ABS pump is next to the air box filter I believe on those (I dont have ABS on mine), just check all the sensors there as water can drain in that side of the inner wing.
