Several download site owners have decided that the risk of prosecution, no matter how dubious the grounds, is just not worth the grief it could inflict on their family and friends on top of the draconian beating they would recieve indirectly from authorities in the USA.

yes, always has been, its copyright theft plain and simple. The point of these sites though, was to distribute LEGAL software etc, but of course, thats not how it is! Thast aprtly why its been hard for copyright owners to do anything, ISPs dont necessarily relase who is downloading what, so now simply the owner of the sites are targeted. megaUpload got a real arsing, and its sent a rather distinct message to the sharing community.

Shutting sites won't stop pirated software, films or music. It will just move further into the black economy or sites wil become more devious. David.

If you look on the tube often under the video there are links to what you may be after but beware of malware. Look on Isohunter which is a search engine of most torrents. Not that I do that sort of thing!! David.

no, I dont do this sort of thing, and wouldnt recommend it, but I hear Pirate Bay are still running, as are H33T, but be very careful visiting sites like these, rife with virus and malware...

I hear that utorrent and isohunt are a good combination. The person I heard that from has never had any problems using them.
