Default tyre wear

i was wondering if anyone knows how long usually front tyres last on the terrrano ?
its just ive a new set put on about a yr ago at tyres ,no brand name just cheapest from my local good tread on em an that , but noticed today they seem very worn on both sides mostly on inner ,down to the marker ,is that normal i had two get two drop links renewed last yr on mot , but had tracking checked and didnt need it , it never pulls to any side whilst driving or braking etc and if i leave go of the wheel while driving it runs straight ,is this normal or would it be a case of cheap tyres you get what you pay for ,£69 each?
ps. i dont use it off road neither or drive crazy .

Most terranos ive seen have cut the tyres out think its down to unusally large ammount of ball joints in the design.Would check all the joints for play and have the tracking checked though.

to be honest though you shouldnt have to do that i know the front always wear more than the bck but is just over a yr good time to get out of a tyre?

Hi Pablo

How long a tyre should last, in my view, can only be dictated by the mileage covered and type of road/driving it's subject to. It is far more difficult to suggest a time average than a mileage average. Having said that I would expect at least 10000 miles from a tyre and probably more.

I've had my current T2 for sixteen months and covered over 12000 kilometres (7500 miles) of sedate driving on winding country roads or nearly empty French motorways. The tyres are showing some wear but look like they will easily last another sixteen months. I have cross swapped them, as suggested by Laurieash. I would recommend also including the spare in the cross swap exercise, if it is the same make/specification as the others. That way you will definitely get greater longevity of tyre use.
