Default Newbie

Guys and gals a big hello followed by a grovel and plead for assistance.

Just bought my first non Land Rover 4 x 4 - a 1999 Terrano 2 Touring could do with a little info
1 - Fan works only on 4 so am i right in assuming its the heater resistor ?
2 - Its got fixed roof rails and I am looking for a full length "safari "rack to fit - any ideas ?

I do have some x members that will fit the roof rails so could I buy a long rack from another make and fix it to the x members.

Any help greatly appreciated

How do ? Welcome aboard
The roof rails will not take a massiveload, I think it's something daft like 70kg That's because the base(feet) are simply bolted on the roof with hardly any reinforcing under them. You could beef them up though but you'll need to drop the headlining for that
Good luck
PS pay up your 10 squid for access to to the all knowing downloads

Hello and welcome.

I have been wondering whether to get a T2 with the factory roof bars.

I would still need cross bars to fit a roof box or a rack, so I may as well just get the cross bars which attach directly to roof. They may even take more weight.

£20!!? , go to scrap yard you can take bits out for yourself. put it in your pocket or offer £5. I got mine with a fuel cap for £2.50.

Most of the roof racks that are non permanent can only hold like 80kg anyway.

I'd beef it up from below somehow.
