Direct Line did this to me mate, but I managed to stick with them and get better quotes. Try putting you as the main driver, and her as the named driver....do it online....

ok , after a long protracted phone call to the insurance company, the reasons they gave for the increase in premium......
car has tinted windows to the rear which are counted as a modification car has had rear seats removed , which also counts as a modification car has had factory fitted a bar removed ..guess what ? ... which counts as a modification if i remove the tinted rear film and replace the rear seats the premium will drop to around £790 per year. fuffin stoopid innit ? |

Direct Line is NOT the place to be with a truck like that. They are looking for solid, middle-class reliable business and will whack anyone/anything that isn't.
Adrian Flux would probably do a better deal than that frankly....all that 'mod' stuff is bollox. But (i) the fact it is an import doesn't help, and (ii) even though the accident wasn't her fault, as I've said before, the insurance companies automatically stick your risk up so your base premium increases, even if your percentage NCD remains the same. |
