Talking freedom of speech

it seems my rights to express concerns about important isues just get squashed by mods who knows why nothing racist or insulting in anything i or anyone else who contributed to it.
maybe they dont mind symbols of national importance and pride being burned and insults thrown at people whove turned out to give 2 mins silence as mark respect,i do mind so did quite a few so maybe the thread should be re opend and an exsplanation as to why its been locked!

must be me then but it seems like we have less rights than he had! we critisize his actions on here (two seperate threads by two seperate people merged into one, kindve shows concern ) its jumped on for being racist by some who obviously deep down thinks his actions were right, but dont have balls to come out and say it,for fear of being pilloried?
youre an educated chap plank maybe you could point out the racist part thread,so we can all be educated and learn from our mistakes?

All you need to know is here.

That and the fact that the court will interpret incitement, abuse etc.. in ways you may or may not agree with.

very interesting although burning of poppys could be seen as inciting racial hatred.
i dont thing anyone used any words that could be (mis)construed as racist or likely to cause ofence exept maybe "burning poppys" especialy if you happen to be ex/or serving forces?
cant realy put it any farer than that for fear of be slapped down by powers that be.

And as another interesting point, this law is now being used to stop the transmission of any material that can be offensive or inflammatory via the INTERNET.

im not up on legislation, but no ones given me the evidence that the merged threads closed (two threads two different authors a fact i had to point out to the mod who then merged them) contain anything breaching this legislation nothing worse than printed in umpteen papers and talked about in pmq's on wednesday.
this site is protected as theyll be a disclaimer along lines any views exspressed are those of individual poster and not those of ww.nissan.... blah blah

Just logged in for a quick look and saw this thread. I find it sad that in this brave new country "or Big Society" that we are now living in that you can not even offend a single person without taking a chance of having to appear in a court for doing so.
I once so offended an elderly gentleman while working in a call centre and used the word "crap" whilst discribing the programs that had recently appeared on the tely that he wrote in and complained.
It even earned me a written warning to be put in my personel file and a good talking too from my manager.
As you may be aware, some people are even sacked if they say anything bad about where they work.
So think carefully and be wary of what you may say or write in todays new world.

Problem is look at the start of the thread, i started one of them , but the message was clear. I found it easy to hate the ****** because of what he did.

Not because of who he is either race, religion or background.

Whatever his beliefs what he did was rude, intolerant and disrespectful to a whole range of people. That gives me enough to dislike him. Then seeing his smug unrepentant attitude gives me the right to hate him

Unfortunately a lot of valid discussions in this case re his behaviour get diverted by strong and potentially inflammatory comments on other aspects of the person under discussion. On this occasion moslems/immigrants in general.

In my opinion that is an unacceptable diversion

Talking

i dont see his religion is a problem, most in it would disown him and his antics! it is impossible to have the subject without understanding more about him ie what made him and his pals do it! answer religion and his/there intrepretation of it,religion has a lot to answer for a very dangerous thing especialy when intrepreted the way some choose to,more lives lost due to religion than anything else!

WEELLL LAATTTEEEE on this but i agree

UNLOCK they bloody thread, only a debate

& off topic

I don't think any of us are racist Its how the government once again have screwed the people who have been here for decades & generations by opening the flood gates to the Euro & giving them there own estates as a closed community & we're paying for it but can't do anything or say anything

In this country
The fact of the matter is this
If you are a white / black / Chinese or Pakistani resident of the UK & have lived here for generations then YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS.!

If you are a Illegal Emergent / Refugee / Ethnic then you have rights & can or are entitled to grants / homes / etc

So I congratulate the former government on wrecking what my & many others grandfathers & grandmothers gave there lives for back in WW1 & WW2... Keeping BRITAIN BRITISH & having RIGHTS in OUR / YOUR OWN COUNTRY.!

So back onto the other LOCKED Thread...

He should of got a bigger fine plus costs & community service at a war grave yard imo!

Rant over... Actually... Freedom of speech over.!

I assumed something had been removed from the thread and it was then closed. It seemed to be a reasonably tame discussion so perhaps the the Moderator was jumping the gun ??
