Good thing too, damn street lights are a complete pain in the eye piece.
Light polution is aweful, and we've only got two lamps in our village. They go off too , luckily. Street twats hang around BECAUSE it's light. Example, nearby beach to us has a lot of boats moored up and started to get outboard engine thefts at night. So the blasted council in their infinite wisdom put some dirty great flood lamps on the beach Guess what, the engine theft rate went up Dirty great street lights on country roads................what's that all about? You've got your eyes all sorted in night vision mode and then wallop, 300 million watts of bloody orange twat lights in your face Ban the street light. And another thing the UK is one of the only places still using those old orange lights that are the most non cost efficient bulbs ever. Something to do with the war I think. |

I agree, a few lesss light would be a good thing, it's just peoples fear of things lurking in the shadows that makes them object. Once they realise there is nothing actualy there they will soon get used to it.

I don't understand why anyone thinks it is a good idea to leave all the lights on all night.
The article is from 2008 by the way, we still haven't been plunged into darkness. |

That one is only a few months out of date rather than a few years.
Bring it on, turn them off and stop wasting money we haven't got. |
