May have to say GOOD BYE
I have just been told by my insurance company that my policy for the tuck could be void tomorrow, due to me getting knocked off my motorbike in a hit and run and not telling them. I may be able to keep it if they decide to just increse the premium but i wont find out till tomorrow.
So the fact i have over 10 years no claims with them on my BMW and they mirrored the policy, the one i had on the bike will over rule them. No wonder people dont bother to insure stuff! Will keep you posted. |

When you go for new cover one of the questions you will be asked is "have you ever had cover withdrawn or refused" Some companies (Im told) have a carte blanche "sorry we're not interested in you if the answers yes" stance. Others will give you a chance to state your case and then decide on the risk to them in insuring you. If you dont tell them the full story and they later find out you could be prosecuted for deception. One form of that is pecuniary advantage, ie you gained the policy under better terms than you otherwise would have |

i musta had 10 policies cancelled cos i didnt pay em or missed a dd
obviously when times were much harder its not that they have refused to insure. its cover is withdrawn so no need to tell them . refused to insure is the question asked.... and thats for disabilities (could even be short term)/ bad behaviour drink driving, drugs and so on . the fact he no longer wants it because he wont pay the increased premium ( and thats all this will be ) is between him and his soon to be ex insurer |

I know where yore coming from but they will ask if cover has been withdrawn they dont mean lapsed by you which is what not paying up could be construed as. it could have been withdrawn by the company due to fraud or bad debt and that could also affect the decision of your new insurers I must be honest I cant believe how tight theyve become. At one time if you modded your car within reason (I used to replace shockers and springs on my saloon cars with a handling kit when the old ones needed replacing) they used to just say no prob thanks for telling us, now they bill you the minimum of an "admin charge" |
