The MAF is still providing some kind of output although way off the mark. If the output from the MAF does not change at all then MIL will be on, same as when it's unplugged!
I haven't had any hill trouble. Been good as gold so far.

I sure am. I spoke to rick about this and he's pretty darned sure my mud/filter issue is nothing to do with the running issue, more like a semi dodgy earth or relay, or possibly the ignition barrel.

If the symptoms re occur I will play with ign barrel.

It might pay to clean up & poss replace the earths with thicker wire as the earth leads are very thin will prob replace all the earths to body, engine & chassis on mine later in the year with some nice thick cable

I've seen much thicker speaker cable than what Nissan have used for earth cables My Son was having problems with 1 of his amps trying to go into safe mode when max power from it was needed & I was sure it was the factory earths at fault as they are the same size on his hyundai as my T2 so made up 2 new earth leads from some spare 4 gauge amp power cable (think that's what your using Alex) & it solved the problem plus his head lights don't pulse to the beat any more if you want more info on it Alex google The big 3 wire upgrade which is well know in the car audio word as bad earths or to small wire can cause all sorts of problems
