Default Maverick Auction

The time has come for me to part ways with my 1996 Maverick LWB.

I have decided to try and auction her here on the forum for full members only.
Its not about how much I can get for her but wanting someone who will make good use of her.
That may even be for breaking as spares, continue fixing her up or turning her in to an off road only monster.

I will list in the classified ads section probably early June with a few pictures.
Members can then make bids if interested , ask for more info, request more pics of certain areas if required.

Limited Intel: approx 134000 miles, runs well, last 2 MOT PASS with no advisories previous was a fail wipers only, a few rust areas will require attention but dont think are too bad

New MOT on Monday so that may make a difference

So thats your heads up, I hope someone worthy will be interested to keep it in the family of this forum. PS I will not be leaving the forum as you guys are so helpful on all matters, great stuff

Default Update

After initially failing the MOT on Monday, high beam alert dash light not working, N/S outer boot insecure. Both sorted although the insecure boot was actually caused by a broken drive shaft which they didn't notice
Big thanks to Rick for supplying the drive shaft

Advisories on 2 tyres & a rust area O/S rear sill not looked at yet.

Hi, I have been advised by my MOT tester that my non intercooled mav may fail on new emissions
How much are you looking for £ wise
I only want it for works use so interior condition is not important I just need a mav for work

I am in Southend

Did the mot man say why he thought it may not pass emissions?

i took my wifes 2012 kia carens for mot on wednesday it has a diesel particle filter and was wondering weather or not it would pass the new emmisions which it did fine has a new mot now i asked about the new rules and was told that it mainly effected 2008 onwards vehicles i asked about old terranos etc he said that it would not effect them as they were not manufactured to meet the new standards as with a lot of the older type of vehicles so as long as they did not exceed the manufactures emmisions spec they would be fine and he also said some common sense is needed too but they had only an mot tester update pack to read nothing else but they did have to have a new exhaust gas machine but this was just his opinion hope it helps

He has a weird sense of humour, likes to wind me up a bit, all the emissions hype was aimed at more modern engines not old non electricery ones like mine, it was well below the max allowed so phew another year with the Maverick
Being a Ford it is better built and very little rust, mainly in front of the rear wheels, not even bad enough for an advisory.
I will take a few pics over the weekend

Well just to be picky as I seem to be a bit stroppy of late, Its not a Ford, its Nissan right through except for badges & radio.

The older models were built better than later models as members here have testified, you are lucky to have a good one which has been looked after, so hang onto it.
