Talking Guess the vehicle.

Snap quiz!

Took this photo of my dash this morning.

Look at the average mpg. Got similar results the last three morning. I appreciate that this is only a five mile trip all three mornings, but I'm well pleased with that figure.

Can anyone guess the vehicle?

Top of the class you old dog!

Bang on.

My only theory is that the air temperature at 8.30/8.45 is perfect for optimum combustion. It doesn't get above 35mpg on the way back.

Is the engine flat cold before the journey back?, maybe it does less mpg when warm.

oh and it wasn't much of a guess, you've mentioned your van several times

Hit 43mpg again this morning. Can't figure out why it's so good. Never mind, mustn't grumble.

Curious, I responded to this quote yesterday with a post but it's vanished. I know I hadn't put anything rude in it so what happened there?

What I'd replied was that the engine is stone cold for the return trip as well.

It's a week of odd occurrences! Vanishing posts, and two-and-a-half ton van clearing 40 mpg!

Hmmm, maybe I'll pick up a lottery ticket on the way home, pretty sure that'll normalize things.

Its done that a few times to me, I think it is when someone replies at the same time, as it then comes up with an extra screen asking if you still want to reply, but often in my haste to move on I miss the prompt and it deletes my post completely.
