Default Gutted, Livid, think I'll explode!

We have been dealing with a PPI company for nearly a year now. They have lost or not sent forms out to us, when we have sent forms back to them which have been lost. The whole process has been crap. This week they sent a cheque out to us from the building society, paid it in next day. Funds should have cleared yesterday so I was ready to go looking at trucks.
Just got a letter from the bank complete with the cheque, it's bounced!

I want to explode and let rip at the PPI company right now but they're closed until Monday.

Even writing this hasn't made me feel any better.

Default PPI

My Missus who used credit cars quite a lot in the past used Gladstone Brooks (GB) and they got her a lot of dosh back and have been excellent. All the cheques came direct from the Banks and you then had to pay the commission to GB who were pretty quick at wanting the fees.

Unfortunately as I have never had PPI it was "Nada" for me.

I suspect some of the firms are struggling now due to diminishing returns as many have claimed now.

Just seen an advert on tv for the company in question and yes they were sending us bills before Christmas which was before we had even had an offer from the building society.

Good luck on Monday.

Oh B0//@* never thought of that!

We were already in dispute with them at their fees after such poor service before this. I reckon this could be a real point to get them.

Nice way to start a fortnight off work ehh

The saga continues

We composed a nicely worded scaving email to the PPI company who funnily enough were on the phone first thing this morning to say the received a second cheque Friday and found out the first had been cancelled so tried to call me to let me know. As I pointed out if they tried to phone the landline guess what we go out to work! But as I pointed out they have both mine and my wifes mobile numbers as well as email addresses.
So the replacement cheque was posted Friday and sure enough has just arrived
I have looked and looked again but this one doesn't say dunlop on it anywhere so fingers crossed. Silly thing is because of Easter holidays we probably won't know for sure if it's cleared until next week.

We await contact from the PPI company regarding fees.

Good luck, don't forget to check for Michelin, Pirelli, GoodYear, or even Durex, who also make other rubber products for when you are being shafted!!!

Why use a cheque anyway, surely it must be easier for tyem to transfer money electronically

Not sure, but now you say it, the insurance companies do still seem to like issuing cheques for everything... So do government bodies.

My guess is, it is safer for a member of staff to raise a cheque which is then checked by 2 or 3 people, than give a single member of staff your account details to transfer money directly.
