At last a phone signal with O2 !!
On the estate here I live there is a crap signal area for T.V. so over 20 years ago when Nynex put a cable on our street I had cable TV so I could enjoy a colour picture instead of Monochrome.
Since then it has been taken over by Cable & Wireless, then NTL, now it's Virgin Media. As I was with VM I got a really good deal on my Mobile but the signal is zero most of the time. Likewise with my work phone when I had one - that was Vodaphone poor signal. My back up pay as you go with Talk Talk now T Mobile - useless. Internet banking becomes a problem as they text me a security code that I can't receive within the time constraints as the web page times out whilst I go out for a drive to get the text! VM got me to go onto 2G settings but still no signal. As I am now out of contract tried a Free O2 Pay as you Go SIM. First one ordered before Christmas was lost in the post and ordered another one that arrived yesterday. Tried new SIM and it's a brilliant signal so yesterday got the PAC code from VM and today like magic my new SIM has my old number and I have a signal at home...result. |

Tesco mobile use O2 as their provider, just thought I'd mention that lol
We get good coverage most places, but internet signal G3 can be an issue at times.

Mac, that is a result to be enjoyed.
Unlike most people I would love to be able to use my iPhone as a phone! Reception is a real issue here to. |

The village where I live is right down, down, down at the bottom of a hill. Zero mobile phone and very, very poor TV signal. When we moved here 20 years ago we had no choice but to get Sky as a hi-gain TV aerial and booster didn't cut it. Wasted a lot of time on the roof trying to find a fix.
Mobile signal was zero or if the weather conditions were right you MIGHT get one bar if you stood in tip toes near a window. The last 9 years I have been with Vodafone as they were at the time the only company to supply a Sure Signal device that connected to my router and gave me a 100% signal around the house. Then a week or so ago the Sure Signal went down as it did now and then, but I noticed that I still had 3 bars on my phone! Switched to data mode from WiFi and the 3 bars were 4G At times I can get 4 to full signal, but a steady 3 bars will do it for me. Turns out that Vodafone (and maybe O2 is on the same mast as my sister-in-law is on O2 and now also has a signal) has fitted a new mast in my village... happy days |
