Defender for £500??
Hi all,
So today a bloke at work gave me a tip off that one of our sister companies is selling off some old vehicles and showed me what ££ they'd been offered. There's an old defender (ex military probably) with snow plough which has just been used for clearing the site in winter, no MOT. Price against it is £500 I'm thinking it's gotta be worth investigating at that price so I've requested more details. I know it's gonna be rough, but question is how rough? Lol. Oh, and price includes the plough! I'll update as and when I get details There was also a 55 plate ranger double cab with only 56k on it going for £1800, but that just seems too easy and boring by comparison. Now to start convincing the wife of the need for (another) long term project |

At that price, it's worth a punt, if it's really bad, you should be able to part it out.
I've had a few series LR's, they have a huge following, so if you need any help/advice let me know |

Good luck and what a great project thread it would make.

That's what I'm thinking, I could even sell the plough on and get some cash back making it even cheaper!
My biggest problem is that having passed my test after 1997 I couldn't tow it even though the t2 can tow 3tonnes. Likely to need welding as well and I'm yet to find a decent mechanics down here that are reasonably priced! If anyone can recommend a solution to either of these problems it would be most grateful |

Yeh that might be the best option, I've got a house renovation on the go.and not much space on the drive, so it may be best to move it on.
Still looking forward to getting pics and details.... |
