Default Engine management light on dam it

Hope someone can help , management light comes on but as soon as I touch the brake pedal it goes out again whether car is moving or stationary, anyone any idea

There are two switches on the brake pedal assy. One is for the brake lights the other is for the ECU.
May be worth checking both are working correctly.

Default Engine management light on dam it

Thanks for your efforts guys, have just accessed the codes with the old paper clip and it came up with code 55 meaning no faults, I'm baffled
