Default lost my insurance no claim now

So went out yesterday and everywhere busy as weather so good, decided to go and buy a new mattress and whilst parking a car drove across the back of me I backed to straighten up and went into the back of him, 61 Reg audi estate needs new tailgate and bumper so not going to be cheap, mine no damage at all. Happy bank holidays.

I feel for you buddy. Our local Tesco's car park is a race track according to the boy racers that visit. It is a nightmare trying to slowly reverse out.Glad you suffered no damage, and that you were unhurt. .☺

If he needs a new tailgate and bumper, what angle did you hit him at, sounds like he was also backing out too, if so, I would say knock for knock

I reversed straight back into him, the exit was oppersite the space I was trying to get into, I pulled in he dove behind me to the exit and sat inline with me waiting to pull out.

My insurance company said that the access way are considered priority and I was coming out of space onto access way and he was stationary so I should have looked before going backwards, I say he should have waited till I had finished my manover before coming behind but he did not and it is deemed my fault.

first accident for 20 years so annoying but that's life.

Kind regards

Russell.

Ouch, glad your motor is ok tho. I was able to protect my no claims a few years ago even tho it cost to do so I won't risk loosing it now

Yes but... even though you have protected no claims, if you change suppliers, or even get a new quote, you have to declare it, if within the last five years, and guess what...? It is still seen as a claim...
We made that mistake with the Picasso, wife backed into the wall...scratched the bumper... so we though we would claim....

Never again...
big mistake...
