I love this thread, I bet the MOT guy did not know just how many people where waiting for the final result of this MOT.

So funny but glad for you that it did pass as bumpers not to my taste but would of been loads of hassle if they had failed. 12 months ticket will the vehicle last that long ??

Great news Alex you never mentioned you had fitted such powerful under body neons on your truck look it even lit up that pit Well i'm going to say it your bumpers might be a love/hate thing but the Police haven't been bothered by them at all & now that it's been in for an MOT & the tester has said they are legal hopefully that'll be the end of the huge debate on here about them

MOT can be a strange thing, I used to be a tester in the 70's so have a good idea but things change, anyway my latest motor went through without problems even though both front wings are really bad rust wise, the tester stuck gaffer tape over them for me which took away the sharp edges, = pass, Rick

That's what I did with mine on the last mot.
Gaffer tape over the rusted front wing and not even a mention of it.

If I am right... I don't think they are allowed to tamper. So aslong as edge is not sharp you are safe. I think they can poke though I e for rust

In the old days, the MOT testers hit everything with a hammer, if it went through, fail. Now it depends on where it goes through...
Surely the car was designed to have metal in that part and must have played some part in the crash tests...
Mind you those were the days of newspaper and under seal

So... have MOT's on the body structure actually got easier?
