Removing Engine Oil from Leather Seats

I've brought two front leather seats from James last night for £40 and I'm well happy with them

However, the passengers one on closer inspection after cleaning all the dust off has half an oil footprint on it, it's someone who wears New balance trainers

The oil is certanly not fresh and has soaked into the leather and marked it, I have tried washing up liquid and hot water and that has made it fade but it's still quite noticeable, I've done a google and seen all the stupid answers like buy this £650 cream or rub some hair in it.

Any sensible ideas guys? I know we will get there together in the end

I would try it in an inconspicuous place to start, but I have to say that CillitBang is my poison of choice for most things greasy or oily...

I cleans up alloy wheels, gets the black stains off of caravans, gets that nasty build up of traffic scum off of the windscreen, removes rust stains and removes greasy marks off of pretty much all things, but I would just check it does not attack the die, before committing to it.

try washing up liquid.
it worked on my fabric seats when I got oil on them.

Never tried it on leather but i've just tar spot remover a few times to remove oil from carpets & fabric seat

Whenever I ask about the practicalities of (cream) leather seats I'm always told everything just wipes off with a damp cloth.
Not that I ever believed them.
