Busy day..
Started the day, by signing for a delivery from the post man... opened it up to find the stainless steel number plate holder I had ordered to move the front number plate on the T1. When we picked it up, the number plate was hidden behind the bull bar, and I think the previous owner must have taken the bull bar off for it's MOT.
I fitted it, and also put the spot lamps on the front, to see how they would look. first attempt Second and preferred version. After that I set to work on my T2, to get it ready for the MOT. First off, was to adjust the rear brakes, and while I had it up in the air, have a good look round under it. Took the opportunity to grease the rear prop, and put grease on many of the exposed bolt threads. Checked the brake and fuel pipes for corrosion as well. I then lifted the front, and checked the front brakes... luckily, the Sliders were just starting to seize up, but I got them just in time, and was able to get them out, and cleaned up, then greased and back in... Next I greased the front prop, and discovered that one of my auto hubs was not working... took apart and cleaned up. Not sure why it was not working, but seems OK now it is sorted. Noticed front drop links are not good, so popped round to motor factor and got 2 new ones. just got to fit them tomorrow, but they look like they may be pigs to do. Once they are fitted, I will book it in for it's MOT, and cross my fingers... |
