Being the new boy I don't want to run the risk of having my head stuck in the bowl, but you actually take your nationality from your father. I was born in Germany as a Forces brat & was forever getting into fights through being called a German when we moved back to the UK (I very seldom won, as it happensm so maybe there was some truth in the accusations after all?)

There are hundreds of thousands of Scottish people, born in Scotland, but say recently moved to England, will not be allowed to vote in the 2014 referendum. Equally there are 10's of thousands of English people who have moved to Scotland who can. So now work out your own nationality?

I must admit I thought it was to do with both where you were born and your father, as I thought I read somewhere that on the odd times a baby has been born on a plane, it gets dual nationality, of the country of it's father, and the country where it was born/flying over. |

So if you were born in the space shuttle or equivalent, on a mission, does that make you a looney?
