My 04 Terrano 2.7TD
Nissan Terrano 2.7TD SE 20/8/2004
Just 2 previous owners (before current) First 4 years Bank Of Scotland. 113,00 miles Turbo Diesel. MOT Sept 13 and Taxed. Oils and filters changed twice in 6 months. Drives excellent, 27-33 mpg and capable of Motorway cruising all day. A really good 4wd, reliable, nice to drive, electric windows, rare model with 17” alloys, tints and side steps, 7 seats, towbar. Nissan4x4ownersclub owner, comes with workshop CD. I recently had 4 wheel tracking done, and its spot on. Only probs I know of; ABS light come on and off at random intervals, I think front os brake could do with greasing the pins. I'll get the garage to do that if anyone is interested. No service book, some scratches but overal nice and presentable. £2695 Im going to be looking for a van, Traffic 02 onwards to put a wheelchair in the back or similar. Ive just dropped it off at my friends garage to sell for me as I have poor health just now. You can ring the garage (they are service/repair not sales really) 01928 788 769 mentions "Its Tims Terrano" you are ringing about! The garage is in Kingsley http://www.milllanegarage.co.uk/ WA6 8JB Last edited by TimRoland; 13-02-2013 at 22:57. Reason: Spelling! |

Thanks Guys.
Its not mint, 1st user probably kept things good, 2nd didnt look like he cared much. I had the interior seats (all 7) professionaly cleaned last year. There are some careless scratches and a scuff or two but drives superb. Pics always make things look better! My brother borrowed it recently for a couple of weeks while having the brakes sorted on his Chrysler 3oo SRT8, he went to London twice and Southmpton, he did one trip at 65-70ish = 33 mpg and another er... much faster and got 27. I used it for Autosport show, 2 days recently, its just great to drive, release bearing a bit chattery at idle but quite as a mouse when clutch engaged. Its NOT on its way out etc! 4 wd in snow and mud all good. Last edited by TimRoland; 13-02-2013 at 23:44. Reason: Spelling again |

When you say clutch engaged, do you mean pressing the clutch pedal down, thus disengaging the clutch? If so, and the noise only happens when the clutch is released ie pedal up, so clutch engaged, then this is most likely not the release bearing, but the gearbox input shaft, ie 1st layshaft bearing. This has been covered a few times on this site. Just a thought as the work necessary will be different. Best regards, Rustic

Thanks for comments. Appreciate Terrano specific knowledge (thats why I joined)
I used to have my own garage, 30+ years motortrade/motorsport and the local garage is a really busy 7 ramp country garage, do quite a bit of 4wd stuff. Between us we reckon its just a release bearing chattering a bit. Gearbox is mint, no rattles, clunks, whines etc. We have had a good look. But experience shows 'we aint always right' and a strip down on anything can reveal unusual results. It drives really lovely, not noises at all. All sellers say this, but; I really will be sorry to see it go. Its one of those 'cars' that just starts 1st time even if you left it covered in snow for a week or two, nice and relaxing to drive, and is faster than expected. I need the money for something else |
