Default tyre pressures

What would be the best pressure to run when towing as i will have two adults and two kids,the dog and the van weighs in at 1425kg all up weight

A lot depends on tyre size, there are a few recent threads on this, and there is no precise value. The recomendation by the manufacturer is shown on a small label on the driver's door post and in the handbook, however this only applies to the original tyres fitted.
Have a look at some of the threads, there are some interesting points of view. One looks at pressures cold and looks at the increase in pressure when warm to check.
Please advise tyre size, vehicle details, swb/lwb etc and another member will advise shortly.

Thanks Rustic, the tyres that iam currently running are 235/70/16 M+S, and the vehicle is a swb terrano. Chunky
