are the modern roads getting faster!
driving home from work i jumped on the m1 which is only about 6 miles up few junctions, i sat at 75mph i past 2 cars only but i was overtaken by 23 cars in that short distance , made me realise 60mph doesnt exist on motorways any longer

they do seem to be getting faster, the A75, which is a main road in my area is a 60mph road, but cars seem too be going 70 even 80mph, there's a lot of crashes as people dont read the road, eg, 3 lanes going in to 2

What gets to me is those average speed cams. I drive through a stretch with those cameras active and stick to exactly 50 on the digital dash on the Reno but still get over taken by people.

A75 road, Scotland A75 road - a major road in Scotland from Annan to Gretna Green has been called Scotland’s "most haunted road" by some authors.[6][7] According to one story, in 1957 a truck driver swerved to avoid a couple walking in the road but when he stopped to investigate the pair had "vanished" Other versions of the stories tell of a couple or group of friends driving down the road at night and are constantly plagued and harassed by shadow figures, from an elderly woman to the back end of a semi truck that they nearly hit before braking only for it to disappear |

Dont forget the margin innacuracy with speedometeres. I travelled upto North Wales yesterday in my trol and took my satnav. When my speedo read 70mph i was only doing 60mph by satnav so adjusted my speed to read 70 on satnav and found i was passing almost everyone.
