Default Decent car wanted, £3k max

Needs to be roomy and nippy. Petrol or diesel, but not too bad on fuel (no v8's or v6 turbos lol)

Thinking seat ibiza cupra r or the diesel FR ?

Audi estate ?

Or a jap motor ...

Anything considered and does anyone know of owt ?

Cheers

Skoda Octy Est - big ass boot, nippy enough (I'm not sure if you can get a VRS in the estate version) and if you get one from about 2004 or older in 1.9tdi form then you'll be able to run it on veggy like the Terrano.

Up side is it's all VAG so generally pretty reliable, only downside is the need to change the stoopid rubber band every 4-5 years, but many motors suffer this lunacy!

Apart from the fuel comment, how about a 3.0 T2?
