L@ndr*ver help
Actually found some time to tinker with my series L@ndr*ver today, reset tappets and it now runs with only a small amount of smoke which I'm hoping may just be residual left in the exhaust so I'll try running with it disconnected.
New problem now though is it will run for a minute or so and then cut out It will start up again after some cranking but will then cut out again ,I'm guessing being diesel that's a fueling problem. have undone various pipes and theres fuel in all of them. Any ideas , apart from scrapping , burning etc Brian |

fuel filter partially blocked with gunge ? ...... air getting into the fuel system ?.... not enough fuel pressue ?

i know nuffin , but as far as i know , once a diesel is running all it needs to keep running is fuel and air ..... im sure someone will correct me tho

How is the fuel delivered to the injector pump, is it mechanical on the side of the engine or electric? Rick

How old is the fuel in the tank out of interest?

Drained the tank and new fuel not that long ago. Think it's looking like air in the system , all the fuel lines are old rubber ones so will change them over the weekend . Pump can be adjusted by simply loosening and turning until it runs right , bit hit and miss but that's how they were built :O) Brian |

pump will be the diaphragm type, quite likely split, or the two valves are duff, this would be my first point to check, remove the delivery hose/pipe and spin the engine with your finger over the outlet you should feel a reasonable pressure but will be able to contain it with finger pressure, Rick

Are there any gauze filters in places in the system a bit similar to a t2 banjo one. I have an old Standard engine with one that is in the joint where the pipe comes out of the tank with gravity feed. Hope this helps. David.
