too good to be true ?
our car insurance is up for renewal at the month, and the renewal quotes from our existing company ( direct line ) were quite frankly ridiculous ..... £1600 for sheilas car and £1150 for mine .... so ...... i started to shop around .....
i was totally honest about my illness , and the fact i was hit by another driver ( his fault ) ..... also that sheila was hit by a uninsured driver .. and that she needs class 1 business use..... quotes i got are ........ for my car ....... £760 sheilas car ....... £675 too good to be true ? ive checked the details to see if everything is covered and declared |

I was talking to a friend on Saturday (Russell from the course Pete) and he has a Disco. His insurance went up from £400 to £900. I've heard of a few stories of the insurance premiums going up. Hope it's not a blanket price hike.

Why is my car insurance going to go up?
Because insurers say they are paying out more than they are taking in. A survey carried out by industry experts EMB, the independent actuarial and consultancy supports this. Their survey showed that last year that for every £1 the retail motor industry received in premiums, it had to pay out £1.20 in costs and claims. Blamed on higher bodily injury claims, this means insurance companies have to raise their premiums. The competitive nature of online insurance resulted in 2009 becoming one the industry's least profitable years on record. The use of claim management companies and no-win, no-fee solicitors are on the rise and have added to the 'claim culture'. How does this affect me? The knock-on effect of this is that drivers could face paying up to 20% more for their car insurance. The average premium of a careful driver with a full no-claims bonus could rise from the average price of £400 to £480. Read more: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/insuran...#ixzz1NDH0tXyF |

from what I have heard it is an across the board steal, seems there are too many uninsured drivers out there and also the fake accident scam is taking its toll, so be very wary of some scam merchant in front slamming on the brakes for no reason, if you hit him it is your fault and the none existent passengers will claim whiplash injury, so basic rule keep your distance, and concentrate, all of the time, good luck, Rick
