Definitely ouch! I'm just about to sell a 2002 MkIV for not much more than 3000 or so (with 94k miles).

yeah...i thought i did well 2.5 year ago paying £1000 for mine.

tax and tested, but that doesnt mean it hasnt got a knackered gearbox, clutch, fuel pump, rear sills, CKP sensor etc etc, but for that money, id go for a test drive and spot any major faults pretty quickly, shame i dont have £700, because id have had serious thoughts about that one!

very true, and lets face it, traders dont let cars go cheap out of the goodness of their heart!

fact ism, these cars are worth a lot more than that...so you gotta wonder whats wrong with it, not whats right with it!

Have found A lot of trade places just dont want the hassle so sell them off as trade clearance with no warranty if the reg is too old , had A 406 est from A local for £550 which I used for clearing my old flagging/concrete carried 70 + slabs and did my work car for 6 months before I traded it in for the xtrail
