N.F.U. insurance
Just shows you how volatile the Insurance market must be I went with NFU last year on my wifes R3mR and the price was very competative and cheaper than her previous insurance with Hyperformance via Adrian Flux. Lower excess on glass cover as well !
It might be that your local NFU office is letting you down I rang the Derby Office and as they were busy my call was diverted automatically after a few rings to the Mansfield Office and the bloke was brilliant. He rang back when he said he would and could not have worked harder for the business. Wife only had 1 years NCB having made a claim 18 months previously that was her fault so it was not going to be cheap she paid £434 in the end some £300 less than Adrian Flux could manage (Fully comp). That why it pays to shop around every year. Did a recent renewal on my Mums car was with Direct Line now Liverpool & Victoria for £120 less for identical cover. |

I will consider moving from direct line as they won't allow a second battery I have all the bits to install one too.
Cover and price is one thing, but if you add any modifications without advising them, they may not pay out. Some examples of modifications: Tow bar, different tyres/wheels, decals, second battery, reversing sensors, improved brakes, spot lights, bull bar, body or suspension lift, increased power, even a K&N filter. etc Does your insurance company allow for these? Has anyone had insurance fail to pay out if a modification was not declared, eventhough it did not contribute in any way to the accident ?

I do know someone who had their claim reduced because they hadn't declared a "No fear" sticker on their back window.
It was amongst other things like wrong alloys etc, but definitely in the letter. |

I have even known them question if the stereo on a newish car was different from the original, as it is mod, even though it had nowt to do with an accident! I suspect that, non declared mods acan void a policy and so if they want to they can us it as an excuse. I have also seen an assesor who couldn't be bothered to get out of his car as it was raining, simpy right off a car without even seeing it! (he admited the reason!) |
