Default I think i made a coc up

i would think the worst thing you can do in any 2/4 wheel drive is to select 2/4 w/d when WHEELS SPINNING so as long as you select before a situation develops ,changing on the fly in HIGH range wouldnt be a problem
As for the Disco permanent 4 w/d but they still recommends engaging dif lock while stood.
Dif lock only engages centre dif to lock drive so 50% goes to each axle.
instead of normal 25% to front 75% to rear.
there is NO dif lock or lsd on front or rear axle

he had come off of the main road in 2wd onto our snow covered street.its quite a tight right hand turn and the back end went round.there is a little central refuge type thing at the junction and he got stuck sideways between the kerbs.
was a few cars waiting to get onto our road so i gave him a quick pull.
