Too technical, tape measure across the tube, and how many peaks in 1 inch, I an reckoning this is a standard BSP prob 1 1/4 waste pipe size if you take the nut and offer it to a common basin waste I think it will screw on, if so, down to you local plumbers and get the longest basin waste thread you can and cut it down, Rick

Just stop a minute fellas and re read this post by Rick, this guy obviously knows his onions, the first 2 words made me laugh, he then goes on to give an explanation of what to do, one of the best posts Ive seen for a good while, Well done that man

Rick ever thought of putting all this knowledge down on paper, you could always call it "RICKS TRICKS"

to all, sorry its a bit off line but I just had to comment on this, again another reason Im glad Im a member of this forum

what is the diameter? looks like niplin will look to see but i should have some,comes in one metre lengths i think i have some off cuts.
yours ( if it's right ) .

looked in workshop found the niplin its 20mm Outside Diameter(100mm long)

You are about right, 1 inch BSP you can get a long threaded pipe about 12 inches long (long thread one end about 3 inches, short thread the other about 1 inch) from plumbers merchants and just cut off what you need, Rick
