We all know your car, we have seen the registration number, we know where you work, so on the first day you move, I could follow you home, and send you a welcome to your new home card.

You have not really though about this have you.

Think I may have upset Rustic

You have to relax with me a bit Rustic, just because I suggest something does not mean i will go an do it

Advise taken but in reality what you are suggesting is something extremely rare. Someone following me home (with me probably on a bike) for 50 or 60 miles in rush hour... To find out where I live, to then guess where I store a cheap gun, and to break in, risking arrest ect for a cheap gun he could easily acquire on the streets, this would surely also imply that this criminal has joined the forum paid up his membership and is currently waiting for me to acquire my license.

If this does happen I will hire you as private detective Rustic though.

Oh, and to hinder this further, ammo must be kept separate, so he would have had to illegally acquire ammo from somewhere too, hoping that the caliber is the same to fit my gun.

Alex, have you actually spoken to the police for the area where you're going to be living, seeing as they're the ones who will be inspecting any gun cabinet and how secure it is?

Whatever plans you have will mean bugger all if the police don't think it's secure enough

No not yet, you have to pass a probationary period with the club first as applying for a license alone would be outright rejected (unless you owned farmland or similar)

Once probationary period is done then I will apply with their help.

If you do store the gun cabinet in the garage, I hope it's alarmed, preferably with a direct link to the police, as most garages contain tools, crow bars, angle grinders etc, how long would it take to open a cabinet like that? 10 seconds max...
They could also bring their own angle grinder, they can then use your electricity too.

Now the neighbours will probably think you have got around to cutting those bumpers off, and the angle grinder noise will be ignored.

The other point is, can the contents of your garage be seen from the street when the door is left open?

Gun cabinets are quite distinctive, best hidden in another cupboard.

Better off keeping a secure cabinet in the house than a garage.
I keep my xbow under my bed.
I wouldn't think twice about shooting an intruder.
