OK guys-Update
I have had another look at my truck.Firstly i stripped the center console out.And checked that the transfer lever was moving along the guide plate as it should, and it is.
Then i was back under the my truck checking the transfer linkage was working ok.This while my son was moving the transfer lever through its positions all ok.

So after looking again at the workshop manual.it shows a 4WD switch on the side of the transfer case.It does not say 4WD Hi or Low.
So my next question is,has anyone encountered this switch/associated with 4xLow problem. Cheer,Bry..

On my 95 Mav, the switch only lights up a green dash light when in 4 wheel drive, ie in high and stays on when you go into 4 low.

That's all it does as far as I am aware.
