yes Ryan, it really is that simple. a little awkward as far as I can see, but i had a good look at the weekend, and i reckon it can be done through the top using a thin but decent quality long wrench, 1/4" so it will fit. Two bolts, slide in the blanking plate, bolt back up. MIGHT have to loosen off at the exhaust side for movement, im not 100% sure yet, but shouldnt be too tricky if that is the case.

Peter, yes, i emailed the chap, he doesnt have any, and can only make one if i can get the dimensions ?!

i tried to take the egr off my scrappy but because theres no gear box, the engine has fell back against the bulkhead, so i couldnt get dimentions i would think they are just the same on th TD and TDI

the egr looks fairly simple to get from under the wheel arch, i can actually get my arm right up between the starter and engine and feel the bolts,, thats the good thing about having long thin arms

Does the EGR have a gasket? if so could you get a new one and use it as a template for a blanking plate

Even post it to Larson, to take up his very generous offer

All very well but you need sealant of some sort or you'll probably get a boost leak from the inlet manifold side, its no different to bolting up the inlet manifold to the head and u wouldn't do that without a gasket

I used copper rtv in the end and blanked both sides doing away with the egr valve
