Your men for this are solaman (Rick) or davenclair. If you want to understand more about readings and fault codes it's best to get yourself a consult interface;

Being an auto ticks over at about 800rpm put it in to gear rpm drops as it should but if I turn the stering wheel so the power stering pump has to work some times the engine cuts out, and when I re start the eml comes on but still drives ok, no power loss or any thing

Does your truck have air con.?

Mark charlesworth

It has air con but not very cold

Check that when the air con is switched on the engine idle speed increases by 100 RPM.

With the air off, when driving and coming to a stop, after around 1~2 seconds stationary the idle speed should drop by 100 rpm to normal idle speed.

there is also a pressure switch on the PS that should increase revs when PS is under load, could be this has failed, Rick

I have the exact same problem with mine. Mine also is the automatic gearbox. When I put it into gear it sometimes stalls the engine and I get code 18. I switch off the engine and back on and it clears it. Ive been putting up with it for almost a year but really want to get it sorted.

well blow me down im in orpington next door. for what its worth i think your control sleeve position sensor housing needs a little adjustement you cant turn the tick over up but slight adjustments to the housing have the same effect. you may also have a leaking pump usually the seals go hard n brittle look up my post on resealing the pump it shows you where to look
